Tremere holds an 'on property' Bull Sale annually in September. All sires offered on sale day have been performance recorded since birth with Breedplan. This
information on the Australian Composite Register, is presented on a flow sheet available on the Tremere website from mid-August. In reference with the Group Percentile Bands of that year, buyers are able to directly compare all lots on offer and
assess the genetic gains each sire would provide for their own herds. EBVs provide one tool in the selection process of sires, all sires have passed the BBSE and have been rated for tick resistance and temperament. Maintaining
a tractable herd has economical and social benefits for both the animals and the people who work with them. At Tremere the stud stock are flight timed at weaning, sale bulls are pen scored prior to sale.

How it works
For those attending on Sale Day
1: Buyers register at the bid table and receive a buyer number as with standard auctions.
2: Bulls are displayed for inspection as usual. Information on each animal is supplied via supplementary sheets and pen cards.
3: When the sale starts all animal lots are on the market simultaneously.
4: Bidders may open bidding on any of the lots at the reserve price, regardless of lot number.
5: Each lot number and corresponding reserve price is listed on the Central Whiteboard, Bids may be contested in $500 multiples.
6: Bids are recorded with the buyers number adjacent to the lot number on the whiteboard. A buyer may bid on any number of lots at one time and can see at a glance whether their bid still stands or has been overbid.
7: A bid once submitted and recorded can not be retracted, and the person submitting such a bid in responsible for it until it is overbid.
8: The sale is linked to AuctionsPlus, all bids are posted on the whiteboard and the AuctionsPlus site as they are jointly recorded.
9: The sale will remain open for a minimum of 20 minutes. A bid registered in the last 2 minutes will result in a 2 minute extention of the selling time. Further 2 minute extentions are made after every new bid. The sale finishes when there are no further bids within a 2 minute period or at the discretion of the auctioneer.
